MINSK, 25 August (BelTA) - Belarusian Alena Nazdrova emerged victorious in the women’s canoe single 1000m at the 2024 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Uzbekistan on 24 August, BelTA has learned.
Alena Nazdrova was going in second place in the first half of the final race but then made a dash and overtook the lead in the race. At some point, the advantage of the Belarusian reached four seconds. Closer to the finish line, Hungary’s Giada Bragato approached the Belarusian canoeist but could not get ahead. China’s Xina Jiang rounded up the top three.Thus, the Belarusian athlete became a four-time world champion.
All in all, Alena Nazdrova has earned 10 medals of the world championships (4-2-4). Earlier this year, Alena Nazdrova won gold in C1 500m at the European championships.
