2023 CIS Games: Belarus win modern pentathlon team gold
MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) - The Belarusian State University of Physical Education in Minsk is hosting the modern pentathlon tournament of the 2nd CIS Games, BelTA has learned.
The team medal event followed the individual final where Belarusian Mariya Gnedchik and Mira Buraya clinched gold and silver medals respectively. The team gold went to Team Belarus 1 comprising Mariya Gnedchik, Mira Buraya and Anastasiya Malashenoka, who finished fourth in the individual event. Silver was collected by Russia. Egypt placed third.
The men’s individual and team medal events are scheduled for 11 August. Men’s and women’s relays will take place on Saturday, 12 August, and mixed relays on Sunday, 13 August. Competing in the modern pentathlon tournament are athletes from seven countries - Belarus, Russia, Egypt, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
