MINSK, 27 December (BelTA) – An organizing committee has been set up to prepare for the 2021 IIHF World Championship in Minsk. The organizing committee was approved by Council of Ministers’ Resolution No.930 of 22 December 2018. The resolution was published on the national legal internet portal on 27 December, BelTA has learned.
The committee is led by Belarus Prime Minister Sergei Rumas. The organizing committee will have to approve the action plan for the 2021 IIHF World Championship in Minsk before 1 March 2019.
As BelTA reported earlier, the 2021 IIHF World Championship will take place in Belarus and Latvia. Both the countries hosted the tournament before.
The organizing committee has comprised representatives of the Sport and Tourism Ministry, the Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation, the Transport and Communications Ministry, the National Olympic Committee, the Culture Ministry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Finance Ministry, the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART), the State Border Committee, the Healthcare Ministry, the State Customs Committee, the Education Ministry, the State Security Committee, the Interior Ministry, the Communications Ministry, the oblast executive committees and the Minsk City Hall.
