Inclusive sport
Project name: Inclusive sport. Setting up a universal sports playground for children with disabilities, children left without parental care as part of the efforts to create an inclusive accessible environment
Implementation period: Two years
Applicant: Education Department of the Zelva District Executive Committee, Zelva District Social and Pedagogical Center, center for developmental education of children with special needs of Zelva
Project objectives: To set up a sports playground on the grounds of the aforementioned educational institutions
Project tasks:
- To create optimal conditions for physical development and strengthening pf children's health, to promote a healthy lifestyle among children and their parents;
- to organize sports and game activities for children living in the social shelter and the center for developmental education of children with special needs;
- to use the sports playground to help children to adapt, psychologically and socially, to modern living conditions, to facilitate children's rehabilitation;
- to organize communication between healthy children and children with disabilities in an inclusive environment.
Target group: Children living in the social shelter of the Zelva District Social and Pedagogical Center and children from the center for developmental education of children with special needs of Zelva"
Brief description:
1. Preparatory work:
- preparation of a land plot (cleaning, ground leveling);
- setting up a rubber coating;
- fencing;
- installation of benches.
2. Equipping the playground:
Zone No 1. A court for sports games: football, basketball, volleyball
Zone No 2. Installation of outdoor workout machines: elliptical machine, bench press, ab and back machine, a stepper;
Zone No 3. Installation of a jungle gym: a swing, a carousel, a slide,
a gymnastic town, and a sand box.
Project budget (in U.S. dollars): $40,000
Cо-financing: $4,000
