MINSK, 24 April (BelTA) – Poland donated a good neighborly assistance to Belarus to fight the coronavirus, BelTA has learned.
A convoy of the Polish State Fire Service carrying humanitarian cargo for the National Medical Response Center arrived to Minsk from Warsaw
A part of the cargo was delivered to several medical institutions in Grodno Oblast. Poland donated a total of some 50,000 liters of disinfectant, 30,000 liters of antiseptic, 100,000 surgical masks and the medication Arechin.
“When we both have a problem like that, I believe it is extremely important that we feel solidarity and support of each other,” Poland’s Ambassador to Belarus Artur Michalski told the media.
Belarus’ Deputy Healthcare Minister Boris Androsyuk thanked Poland for a truly good neighborly gesture and solidarity. “Of course, as the ambassador said, we hope for further successful dialogue. The assistance we have received today will be distributed directly among the medical institutions fighting the coronavirus,” he said.
The official handover ceremony was also attended by Deputy Emergencies Minister Igor Bolotov, Chief Doctor of the National Emergences Center Eduard Valchuk, Head of the Europe Department of the Main Directorate for Europe and North America at the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sergei Nagorny.
“We are grateful to our Polish partners for this gesture of good neighborly solidarity in these difficult times for the entire international community. Only together, by joining efforts, can we cope with this challenge,” the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed.
