MINSK, 14 February (BelTA) – Belarusian combat medics from a special forces unit are preparing to take off from the Machulishchi airfield to fly to Syria to help the earthquake victims, BelTA has learned.
The emergency response team includes 45 combat medics. They will provide humanitarian and medical assistance to the victims of the devastating earthquake. Belarusians will fly on board the Russian aircraft Il-76MD. The relief team will set up a field hospital with reception, hospital, surgery, diagnostic and resuscitation departments. The camp will be deployed within a day. The combat medics include surgeons, therapists and anesthesiologists.
Earlier, Belarus had sent a rescue team to Türkiye to remove rubble in the earthquake zone.
