Belarus to send Syria over Br1m worth of humanitarian aid

MINSK, 6 April (BelTA) – Belarus will supply over Br1.08 million worth of humanitarian aid to the Syrian Arab Republic. The list of goods in the humanitarian cargo was set forth in the Belarusian Council of Ministers’ Resolution No.190 of 2 April 2021 that was published on the National Legal Internet Portal on 6 April, BelTA has learned.

In line with the resolution, Belarus will donate Syria medicines, sugar, transformers, chassis, trucks, a concrete mixing truck, a haul truck, and a MAZ truck tractor.

The Emergencies Ministry, the Industry Ministry, and the Transport and Communications Ministry of Belarus are responsible for shipping the humanitarian cargo to Syria.

The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will assist in handing the cargo over to the Syrian party.

The Finance Ministry will reimburse transportation costs, employees’ travel expenses, and other costs. The Finance Ministry will also refund the ministries the price of the goods from the funds allocated from the national budget for financing response to natural disasters, emergencies, and catastrophes.

The resolution came into force on the day of its adoption.
