MINSK, 7 February (BelTA) - The ZUBR team of the Emergencies Ministry will fly off to Turkey to help the earthquake-stricken areas, BelTA learned from the official representative of the Emergencies Ministry Yevgeny Baranovsky.

The Republican Special Response Team ZUBR at the Emergencies Ministry, of 64 rescuers, with five search dogs, two MAZ trucks and two off-road vehicles designed for search and rescue operations, is getting ready to fly off to Turkey. Departure is scheduled for the morning of 8 February to the city of Adana. The search and rescue squad is capable of performing tasks autonomously for ten days at two emergency sites at the same time.

“In 2013 the Republican Special Response Team ZUBR was classified as an International Search and Rescue Team of heavy class and included in the INSARAG Registry. In 2018, it successfully passed reclassification and meets international requirements,” Yevgeny Baranovsky said.

The team actively participated in international exercises in Denmark, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Russia.
