Belarus to provide humanitarian aid to Kenya

MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) - Belarus is set to provide humanitarian aid to Kenya. The measure is stipulated in the Council of Ministers' resolution No. 582 of 8 August “On providing humanitarian aid to the Republic of Kenya and the Republic of Zimbabwe”. The document was published on the national legal internet portal, BelTA has learned.

Under the document, the Emergencies Ministry, the Healthcare Ministry, the Belarusian state food industry concern Belgospishcheprom are instructed to ensure the production and registration of material values for humanitarian aid to Kenya.

The list includes about 20 items to the total tune of more than Br638,000 including canned meat, medications, berry, fruit jams and dried fruits.

The Transport and Communications Ministry and the Emergencies Ministry have been instructed to organize the delivery of humanitarian aid to Kenya. The cargo shall be delivered by Transaviaexport Airlines.

The document also introduces some amendments to the Council of Ministers' resolution No.382 of 28 May 2024 “On the provision of humanitarian aid to the Republic of Zimbabwe”. It is established that the delivery of aid to Zimbabwe shall be carried out by Transaviaexport Airlines.

The decree comes into force from the date of its adoption.
