MINSK, 18 April (BelTA) – Belarus’ humanitarian aid has been delivered to Mozambique. The plane from Belarus has landed at Maputo International Airport, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry.
The delegation led by Belarus’ Deputy Emergencies Minister Aleksandr Khudoleyev was welcomed by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Institute of Disaster Management of Mozambique.
Mozambique’ Deputy Minister of the Interior Helena Kida expressed gratitude to Belarus for its assistance and support. She stressed that the exchange of experience in the prevention of natural catastrophes and the mitigation of their consequences is of high importance for Mozambique due to the latest devastating Cyclone Idai, which the country had not been ready to cope with. Aleksandr Khudoleyev, in turn, invited a delegation of Mozambique to visit Belarus.
The ceremony to hand over the humanitarian cargo took place at the National Institute of Disaster Management.
Two day ago the humanitarian aid reached Zimbabwe.
