MINSK, 12 December (BelTA) - Accreditation of journalists with the Information Center of the Central Election Commission of Belarus is open, BelTA learned from the Information Ministry.
Accreditation of journalists with the CEC Information Center will be running from 12 December 2024 to 13 January 2025. Journalists of Belarusian and foreign media can apply for accreditation to work in the Information Center.
Headquartered in the Palace of the Republic, the Information Center will be running from 24 to 27 January 2025 to provide prompt updates about the presidential election of the Republic of Belarus.
On the opening day, 24 January, the center will host a meeting of the CIS Advisory Council of Heads of Electoral Bodies, the youth tournament Vybor.BY, and an exhibition dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the CEC.
On 25-27 January, the Information Center will host press conferences of Igor Karpenko, Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Belarus, observers from the CIS and SCO missions, media scrums, briefings, interviews with representatives of the Central Election Commission, government bodies , expert community, political scientists, public opinion leaders.
On 26 January, journalists will be updated on the voting process, including during live broadcasts from polling stations of various levels and the Center for Public Observation under the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, which will accumulate information from national observers.
For the first time, volunteers from among the BSU journalism students will be involved in the media platform of the most important election campaign.
A well-equipped press center will open its doors to media representatives on the first day the Information Center is launched. In addition, it will host visiting studios of national TV channels and news agencies that will go live to inform their viewers about the course of the election.
