MINSK, 23 October (BelTA) – The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus is ready for the start of the presidential election campaign in Belarus, CEC Chairman Igor Karpenko said at the session of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus on 23 October, BelTA has learned.
“The Central Election Commission is ready for the election campaign, which has been launched by the resolution of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus. We have already developed draft methodological recommendations for territorial and precinct commissions, document forms, a calendar plan of organizational activities, a visual concept and draft resolutions, memos for national and international observers, media representatives,” Igor Karpenko said.
According to him, setting the date of the presidential election in Belarus on 26 January 2025 fully complies with the Constitution and the Electoral Code. “Holding the election on this date will ensure the rational use of technical, financial, informational, human resources and will complete the process of formation of all government bodies on the basis of the updated constitutional legislation,” the CEC head stressed.
