MINSK, 17 July (BelTA) – Representatives of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (IPA) have been invited to observe the presidential election in Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS IPA.
“The Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States received a letter from the National Assembly of Belarus inviting international observers from the CIS IPA to take part in the observation of the presidential election in Belarus scheduled for 9 August. The CIS IPA parliaments will delegate representatives to the observation group that will travel to Minsk for 7-10 August to observe the presidential election. International observers will visit polling stations, assess the availability of information materials and observe the vote and vote counting,” the press service said.
International observers will be accredited by the Central Election Commission of Belarus. Applications are open through 6 August.
