MINSK, 12 May (BelTA) – The Central Election Commission of Belarus (CEC) has set up an extra-budgetary fund to provide additional financing for the preparation and conduct of the presidential election. The CEC has unveiled the details of the corresponding bank account, BelTA learned from the website of the Central Election Commission.
The fund was established in line with the Electoral Code. It will be made up of donations of organizations, public associations and individuals (citizens of Belarus). “Donations cannot be made by state-funded organizations, foreign states and organizations, international organizations, foreign nationals, stateless persons, as well as organizations whose founders, members or owners are foreign states, foreign organizations, international organizations, foreign nationals and stateless persons,” the CEC noted.
The money of the extra-budgetary fund will be used to cover additional expenses related to the presidential campaign. These additional expenses might include publishing of additional campaign materials, posters and other direct expenses.
“Legal entities and individuals who want to contribute to the additional financing of the presidential campaign can make donations to the extra-budgetary fund by transferring money to the Belarusbank account of the CEC BY91AKBB36300000018660000000 (Minsk), BIC AKBBBY2X, VAT identification number 101541814,” the CEC informed.
