MINSK, 8 May (BelTA) – A total of Br36 million has been set aside in Belarus’ state budget for 2020 for two rounds of the presidential election, Chairwoman of Belarus’ Central Election Commission (CEC) Lidia Yermoshina told the parliament on 8 May, BelTA has learned.
“Some Br36 million will be earmarked from the 2020 state budget for two rounds of the election. Taking into account the current U.S. dollar exchange rate, this sum equals $14.775 million,” Lidia Yermoshina said. She pointed out that the presidential election 2015 cost around Br26 million ($17 million).
Some Br25 million, or $10.214 million will be designated for the first round, and Br11 million, or $4.561 million for the second round.
