MINSK, 5 August (BelTA) – A total of 4.98% of voters came to the polls on the first day of early voting, 4 August, ahead of the 9 August presidential election in Belarus. The data is available at the official website of the Central Election Commission of Belarus, BelTA has learned.
4.23% of eligible voters took advantage of early voting in Brest Oblast, with 5% early votes cast in Vitebsk Oblast. The turnout reached 7.55% in Gomel Oblast, 3.39% in Grodno Oblast, 4.69 in Minsk Oblast, 4.66% in Mogilev Oblast and 4.77% in the city of Minsk.
The total number of eligible voters is 6,836,585 people.
Early voting will last through 8 August inclusively.
