Poll: About 80% of the Belarusians trust their president

MINSK, 5 October (BelTA) – At present as many as 79.5% of the nation trust the Belarus president, BelTA learned from the opinion poll carried out by the Information and Analysis Center under the Belarus President Administration in late September.

According to the source, as many as 45.3% of the Belarusians fully trust the head of state while 34.2% stated they are inclined to trust the president.

According to sociological studies, during the presidential election campaign Belarus citizens were most interested in the speeches the candidates made on television, radio, and via printed media (42.7%), in the televised debates of the candidates (35.6%), meetings of candidates with individuals in their area of residence (26.1%), and meetings of candidates with labor collectives (19.9%). Information available on the Internet and statements released via social networks were interesting only to 11.2% of the Belarusians. Nearly 15% of those polled noted they took interest in leaflets, posters, and other agitation materials.
