Over 43,700 domestic observers monitoring Belarus president election
MINSK, 11 October (BelTA) – As many as 43,751 domestic observers are monitoring the Belarus president election at polling stations all over the country, BelTA learned from Secretary of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Nikolai Lozovik on 11 October.
It turns out that there are seven observers per polling station on the average, although certainly their distribution is not even. “There are more observers in cities and fewer in rural areas. There are about 15 observers per polling station in Minsk,” said Nikolai Lozovik.
He also reminded that according to old data the number of observers exceeded 37,000.
Apart from that, the CEC Secretary explained that the area of residence voting rule does not indicate that any citizen can vote at any polling station. The rule is applicable only to special cases, for instance, early voting.
