MINSK, 7 July (BelTA) - The Council of Permanent Plenipotentiaries of the states parties to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will gather for a regular meeting in Minsk on 14 July, BelTA learned from the CIS Executive Committee.
The meeting will be attended by Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee, CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev. The meeting participants are set to discuss the candidature to the post of the head of CIS observation mission for the presidential election in Belarus on 11 October, and will consider the proposals to the draft agenda of the meeting of the CIS Council of the Heads of Government scheduled in Dushanbe for 30 October.
The permanent plenipotentiaries will also review the activities of the CIS council of heads of state news agencies established in 1995. The council includes the heads of the state news agencies of Azerbaijan (Azertaj), Armenia (Armenpress), Belarus (BelTA), Kazakhstan (Kazinform), Kyrgyzstan (Kabar), Moldova (Moldpres), Russia (TASS) and Tajikistan (Khovar). The Chairman of the CIS information council is General Director of the Russian TASS news agency Sergei Mikhailov.
