MINSK, 11 October (BelTA) – The Belarus president election is compliant with European standards, BelTA learned from Zahari Zahariev, President of the Federation for Friendship with Peoples of Russia and the CIS (Bulgaria), member of the National Council of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, an independent observer monitoring the Belarus president election.
Zahari Zahariev said: “Everything is going well. If we take a look at the election process considering European standards, I must say that everything is going rather well.”
The observer noted he has already visited many polling stations today and pointed out that people are in a good and festive mood. “It certainly pleasantly impresses me. Many polling stations are located in schools. Concerts are staged there, public catering has been organized. You can eat well there. This way one can feel that the election is a true day of celebration,” he said.
“I have no remarks. Observers say everything is going well. I think it will stay like this till the end of the election,” Zahari Zahariev was confident.
