MINSK, 30 May (BelTA) – Improving living standards for people will remain a priority in the country’s national policy for 2016-2020, Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister Natalia Kochanova told media in Minsk on 30 May after a meeting of delegates to the 5th Belarusian People’s Congress, BelTA has learned.
According to Natalia Kochanova, the social sphere will get further development in the ongoing five-year period. She believes as important to hear the opinion of the participants of the Belarusian People’s Congress. “I would like to hear the delegates from Minsk in order to implement interesting proposals in the social and economic development program,” the Vice Premier said.
Partaking in the meeting of the participants of the 5th Belarusian People’s Congress were 400 delegates from Minsk, and also representatives of national government bodies, the general public, the Minsk City Hall, labor collectives and public organizations.
The participants of the event signed a resolution. According to the document, the Belarusian social and economic development model will help implement the principles of social justice, secure peace and concord in the society, stability and other in the country. “The Republic of Belarus has succeeded as a social state. Our primary goal is to preserve and multiply its economic and political potential,” the final document of the meeting stresses.
The Belarusian People’s Congress will take place in Minsk on 22-23 June to discuss the social and economic development program of the Republic of Belarus for 2011-2015 and the major guidelines of the country's social and economic development program for 2016-2020. It is expected that the event will be attended by 2,500 people, including 400 representatives from Minsk.
