MINSK, 25 June (BelTA) – The memory of the heroic deed of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War obliges us to remember the lessons of history, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stressed as he received credentials from foreign ambassadors on 25 June, BelTA has learned.
“Our meeting takes place in the run-up to the national holiday – Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus. There are fateful dates in the history of every nation which give a start to the new era. The liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders who condemned our people to annihilation was such a milestone date for us,” the head of state emphasized.
Having defended the right to life in fierce battles and lost one third of its population, the country revived and became stronger. “The memory of the heroic deed of the Belarusian people obliges us to remember the lessons of history, cherish the legacy of previous generations, pursue peaceful policy and take care of the security and sustainable development of our young sovereign state,” Alexander Lukashenko stressed,
He pointed out the importance of the fact that the diplomats get down to work in a very important and dynamic period of time when Belarus reaches new heights in integration processes.
