MINSK, 9 May (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko laid a wreath at the Victory Monument in Minsk on 9 May, BelTA has learned.
Top ranking government officials, heads of government agencies, representatives of public organizations, war veterans, representatives of the clergy and the diplomatic corps also took part in the solemn ceremony.
After the wreaths were laid, Alexander Lukashenko talked to heads of diplomatic missions and military attaches.
The head of state talked to war veterans. “Your numbers dwindle all the time yet your core is strong… Do you remember your orders? Live against all odds,” said the President.
The Belarus President also conveyed greetings to Belarusian war veterans from Russian veterans and the Russian leadership.
