500 Years of Belarusian Book Printing

MINSK, 19 December (BelTA) – A unique collection of 21 volumes with a facsimile reproduction of Francysk Skaryna’s book legacy has been donated to the National Library of Vietnam, BelTA learned from the website of the Belarusian embassy in Vietnam.

At the ceremony Belarus’ Ambassador Vladimir Goshin emphasized the importance of developing and strengthening bilateral cultural and humanitarian cooperation. In his words, this will promote the strengthening of warm, friendly relations between Belarus and Vietnam and also the spiritual mutual enrichment of the two peoples.

Director of the National Library of Vietnam Kieu Thuy Nga expressed gratitude to Belarus for involving Vietnam in such a large-scale event to celebrate 500 years of the Belarusian book printing.

The volumes with the facsimile reproduction of Francysk Skaryna’s book legacy are the first editions in the Belarusian language that have made part of the National Library of Vietnam.
