MINSK, 2 March (BelTA) – An encyclopedia dedicated to Francysk Skaryna and his followers will be published in Belarus this year, Belarus’ Deputy Information Minister Alexander Karlyukevich said at a press conference held in BelTA’s press center on 2 March.
He noted that the Information Ministry and state-run publishing houses have already implemented several big projects in the run-up to the celebrations of the 500th anniversary of the Belarusian book printing. Among them is the project “Francysk Skaryna From the Glorious City of Polotsk” that was published thanks to the active participation of the National Library of Belarus. The Pyatrus Brouka Encyclopedia publishing house has launched a series of books. One of them, “Francysk Skaryna, the Man of the World”, has already been presented.
The encyclopedia about the life and art of Francysk Skaryna and his followers will be published this year. It will be an updated and revised edition of the encyclopedia published in the early 1990s. Alexander Karlyukevich is sure that this book will be of interest not only to experts but also to the general public.
