MINSK, 2 February (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree to regulate certain top-priority issues regarding the preparations for the Second European Games 2019 in Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The document establishes the sources and order of financing the Games Directorate's activities, the costs associated with the opening and closing ceremonies, and the services of the organization responsible for providing TV broadcasting of the Games.
The decree regulates the return of the interest-free loan allocated to the Games Directorate in 2017 and a mechanism for providing a loan from the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus to the Belarusian TV and Radio Company for the purchase of mobile HD TV stations.
With a view to ensuring a more rational use of funds, the goods purchased for the organization of the Games with the help of state and local budgets will be exempted from the value added tax.
The same as during the 2014 IIHF World Championship, the participants of the 2019 European Games will be exempted from the requirement to have health insurance, which will reduce the spending on the insurance coverage of the Second European Games. Belarus will provide the participants of the Games with free emergency healthcare services.
