MINSK, 21 November (BelTA) – Euronews will provide coverage of Minsk’s preparations for the 2nd European Games. The relevant agreement was signed by head of the Minsk European Games Organizing Committee (MEGOC) George Katulin and Euronews International Sales Director Kjell Stein in Minsk on 21 November, BelTA has learned.
According to the agreement, a total of 532 videos will be made about Belarus and the 2nd European Games 2019. Besides, Euronews’s Focus, Metropolitans and Postcards programs will air stories about Belarus’ travel and tourism industry. The TV channel will also broadcast a series of reports on Minsk’s preparations for the large-scale continental sport forum.
“Coverage of the 2nd European Games is impossible without broad participation of mass media outlets. Euronews is a special partner of MEGOC. In line with our agreement, the TV channel will show reports about the preparations for the 2nd European Games. The joint experience will come in useful in the future as we organize coverage of other big sports events and socio-political events. We believe that the information support from Euronews will help us attract the attention of even more fans and tourists not only from Europe but also from around the world,” George Katulin said.
The 2nd European Games are scheduled to take place in Minsk on 21-30 June 2019. Over 4,000 athletes from 50 countries will compete for 200 sets of awards in 15 sports. The competitions in 10 sports will offer qualification opportunities for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
