MINSK, 30 June (BelTA) – On the final day of the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019 Belarusian athletes won eight medals, including two gold ones. In terms of the total number of medals Belarus is second only to Russia, BelTA has learned.
Today the Belarusian cyclist Tatsiana Sharakova won a gold medal in the Women’s Individual Pursuit event. It is her second award during the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019. She won a bronze medal during a Women's Road Race event before that.
Surprisingly enough, Belarus’ Kiryl Hryshchanka won a gold medal during the Men's Greco-Roman -130kg wrestling event. Another member of the team – Aliaksandr Hrabovik – won a silver medal during the Men's Greco-Roman -97kg wrestling event.
Belarus’ Uladzislau Smiahlikau won a silver medal during the Men's, Heavy -91kg boxing event.
In Chizhovka Arena Belarus’ Mariya Koulinkovitch won a bronze medal during the Women’s Kumite -50kg karate event while Belarus’ Krautsou Artsiom won another bronze medal during the Men’s Kumite -67kg karate event.
Belarusian artistic gymnastics athletes snatched two more bronze medals. Anastasiya Alistratava came in third during the Women’s Uneven Bars event and Andrey Likhovitskiy did the same during the Men’s Pommel Horse event.
Thus, over the course of the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019 the Belarusian team has won a total of 69 awards – 24 gold ones, 16 silver ones, and 29 bronze ones.
