MINSK, 22 June (BelTA) – The Belarusian cyclist Tatsiana Sharakova won a bronze medal in the 120km Women's Road Race during the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019, BelTA has learned.
For the entire distance Tatsiana Sharakova was part of the main group. Thanks to a bit more effort she managed to wedge herself into the top three. She finished the race behind two representatives of Netherlands – Lorena Wiebes became the champion (3 hours, 08 minutes, 13 seconds) while Marianne Vos took the silver medal. Belarus’ Alena Amialiusik finished 15th, Anastasiya Kolesava 42nd, Taisa Naskovich 56th. Belarus’ Hanna Tserakh came 65th out of the 69 athletes, who reached the finish line.
Three sets of road cycling medals have yet to be awarded. A Men's Road Race will take place on 23 June. A Women’s Time Trial followed by a Men’s Time Trial will take place on 25 June.
