MINSK, 22 June (BelTA) – Belarus lost to UK in the women’s recurve archery final at the 2nd European Games. The tournament took place in the Olympic Sports Complex in Minsk on 22 June, BelTA has learned.
In the team gold medal match Belarus’ Karyna Kazlouskaya, Hanna Marusava, and Karyna Dziominskaya were defeated by Team UK 2:6. Bronze went to Denmark that beat Germany 5:4.
Men’s recurve team (Kiryl Firsau, Pavel Dalidovich, and Aliaksandr Liahusheu) lost to the Netherlands in Team Quarter Finals 0:6.
On 22 June, Belarus’ Alena Kuzniatsova will take on Sophie Dodemont of France in Women’s Compound Individual 1/8 Eliminations. The experienced French athlete is a bronze medalist of Beijing 2008.
On 23 June three Belarusian athletes will compete in Men’s Recurve Individual 1/32 Eliminations. Kiryl Firsau will face Latvia’s Janis Bruzis; Aliaksandr Liahusheu will take on
Russia’s Arsalan Baldanov, while Pavel Dalidovich will face Israel’s Itay Shanny.
Archery competitions will run till 27 June.
