Belarus’ central bank issues coins to celebrate Minsk European Games 2019

MINSK, 15 April (BelTA) – The National Bank of the Republic of Belarus has put into circulation new commemorative coins to mark the 2nd European Games 2019 in Minsk, BelTA learned from the Information and PR Department of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus.
The gold coin is 25mm in diameter, 7.78gr heavy, corresponds to 999 alloy standard and costs Br50. The silver coin (38.61mm in diameter, 33.63gr heavy and 925 alloy standard) costs Br20. The copper-nickel coin (37.00mm in diameter and 19.50gr heavy) is Br1. The issue makes up 300, 1,500 and 3,000 coins respectively.
The coins are round in shape with a raised rim on the obverse and the reverse. The coins’ edge is reeded. The obverse has a relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus in the center. The circumferential inscriptions read: The Republic of Belarus at the top and the denomination at the bottom: 50 rubles (gold coins), 20 rubles (silver cons) and 1 ruble (copper-nickel coins), the year of issue (the standard of alloy on gold and silver coins).
The reverse of the gold coin has: the stylized image of the Sun in the center; the stylized image of the architectural complex Minsk Gate to the right and left at the bottom; the inscription 2nd European Games at the top; the inscription MINSK 2019 at the bottom. The reverse of the silver and copper-nickel commemorative coin has: the stylized image of the Sun in the center; the original pictograms of sports competitions around; the stylized image of the architectural complex Minsk Gate to the left and right; the inscription 2nd European Games at the top; MINSK 2019 at the bottom.
The coins have been minted by Lithuanian Mint. Gold and silver coins are proof coins, copper-nickel coins are proof-like. The coins are a legal tender in the Republic of Belarus and are accepted at face value in all types of payments without any restrictions, the National Bank said.
