MINSK, 10 October (BelTA) - Belarus is an incredibly beautiful country, UN Under-Secretary-General and Head of the UN Counter-Terrorism Office Vladimir Voronkov told the Belarus 1 TV channel on 10 October, BelTA has learned.
Vladimir Voronkov visited his father’s hometown in Shklov District, Mogilev Oblast. He took a day off to walk along the bank of the Dnieper River, to visit the village of Rzhavtsy where he spent his summer holidays as a child.
“Honestly, when I was crossing the bridge over the Dnieper River this time, I had goose bumps running down my back. I was overwhelmed with emotional memories from my childhood. The older you get, the more often you think about your roots. I am very inspired by what I saw in Belarus. It is a very beautiful country with magnificent nature, friendly and hospitable people. Small towns have been developing, good roads have been built," Vladimir Voronkov said.
