LYASKOVICHI, 26 April (BelTA) - High social standards have been introduced in Chernobyl-affected areas in Belarus, Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko said as he met with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko in Lyaskovichi on 26 April, BelTA has learned.
“We have seen the social standards in Polesye. We saw how roads and clubs should be built, how shops should look like, what should be done in culture and sport,” Petro Poroshenko said. “This is the main goal of our work – to work and create better living conditions for people.”
He also touched on the bilateral relations, noting that Belarus is an important trading partner of Ukraine. “We are extremely grateful to you for the firm stand to keep the Belarusian market open for Ukrainian goods. This is a principled position of a reliable ally, partner and friend,” the Ukrainian president said.
