MINSK, 23 August (BelTA) – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with outgoing Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Igor Petrishenko as he paid a farewell courtesy visit to him on 23 August, the website of the Belarusian diplomatic mission informs.
Igor Petrishenko was appointed Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus.
During the meeting the parties discussed topical issues of Russia-Belarus relations, including cooperation within the framework of the Union State, as well as forthcoming meetings and events. They expressed mutual interest in expanding cooperation in politics, trade, economy and the humanitarian field and maintaining a close and trustful dialogue between the foreign ministries of the two countries.
Sergey Lavrov thanked Igor Petrishenko for his constructive contribution to strengthening bilateral integration and wished him success on his new position.
