MINSK, 18 February (BelTA) – President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Suma Chakrabarti is happy with the progress in the implementation of joint projects with Belarus. He made the statement as he met with Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei in Minsk on 18 February, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.

“The parties discussed the state and prospects of the implementation of the EBRD Strategy for Belarus as well as further steps to strengthen mutual cooperation for building up stability in the East-European region,” the press service said.

Vladimir Makei took note of a considerable increase in the bank’s financing of projects in Belarus over the past years. The EBRD President, for his part, expressed satisfaction with the progress made in the implementation of joint projects and praised Belarus’ role in settling the conflict in Ukraine.
