The Polish MP said: “We’ve had a very interesting and positive meeting. There is no doubt that Polish politicians now pay close attention to parliamentary cooperation at the international level, including cooperation with Belarus. We discussed economic problems and economic cooperation as well as international politics and the matters our country is concerned with. We intend to do everything in the future to make interaction between our parliaments and states even broader.”
In turn, Boleslav Pirshtuk said that they had discussed a number of important matters during the talks. “First of all, we noted that interparliamentary relations were considerably invigorated over the last few years,” said the deputy head of the lower chamber of the Belarusian parliament. Apart from that, the sides discussed in detail constructive relations, actions on international platforms, including in the international organizations where Belarus and Poland meet. “We discussed matters of border cooperation, touched upon economic affairs and noted that trade turnover has been rather stable for the last few years. There is some growth despite the complicated economic conditions,” stated Boleslav Pirshtuk.
The MP also pointed out that Polish partners pursue a rather active investment policy in Belarus. “We see rather many positive aspects, which could bolster our positions,” he added.
