MINSK, 4 October (BelTA) – A session of the trilateral contact group on resolving the situation in Ukraine’s east just began in Minsk, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
After the previous negotiations on 20 September the OSCE’s special representative in the trilateral contact group Martin Sajdik described the situation in Ukraine’s east after participants of the contact group pledged their adherence to the timeless ceasefire in view of the beginning of the new academic year. The diplomat stated that fewer ceasefire regime violations had been registered in comparison with the numbers recorded before the ceasefire began on 25 August. Participants of the negotiations remained concerned as this year’s civilian victims have so far included 383 people, with 68 people killed and 315 injured. It was absolutely unacceptable, stressed Martin Sajdik.
