MINSK, 24 October (BelTA) – Belarus and China’s Guangdong Province plans to hold a meeting of the working commission on sci-tech cooperation in 2018. The agreement was reached at the meeting between Chairman of the State Science and Technology Committee Alexander Shumilin and Secretary General of the Guangdong-CIS International Technology Union Guo Fengzhi, BelTA learned from the press service of the State Science and Technology Committee.
The sides also discussed the areas of sci-tech and innovative cooperation between Belarus and Guangdong Province, including the prospects of the “public car” project and training Chinese specialists and students in Belarus in the railway transport major.
During the Week of Science and Technology of China’s Guangdong Province in 2010 the State Science and Technology Committee of Belarus and the People’s Government of Guangdong Province signed an agreement on sci-tech cooperation. Protocols on cooperation were earlier concluded between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the technological park Politekhnik of the Belarusian National Technical University with the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province. Belarus and Guangdong Province have so far implemented a number of joint projects and agreements, including the project to set up the joint Guangzhou-Belarus research center of automated information systems and complexes and a contract between the Guangzhou Qi Xing Pharmaceutical Company and the Belarusian national scientific and practical center Cardiology on medication trials.
