MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) – As much as $200 million was transferred to Belarus’ budget as the fifth tranche of the loan from the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD), the press service of the Belarusian Finance Ministry told BelTA.
According to the source, Belarus’ central state budget received $200 million as the fifth tranche on 25 October.
In 2016-2017 the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development transferred a total of $1.6 billion to Belarus.
BelTA reported earlier that on 25 March 2016 the Belarusian Finance Ministry and the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) signed an agreement on providing a $2 billion loan out of money of the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD). The agreement provides for allocating $2 billion to support economic policy measures and structural changes of the Belarus government and the central bank in 2016-2018. The economic policy measures and structural changes were approved by the Council of the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development.
The money is supposed to be granted in seven tranches in 2016-2018. Belarus’ central state budget received $300 million as the fourth tranche of the loan on 29 June 2017.
