MINSK, 24 August (BelTA) – Belarus and Georgia hail constructive cooperation in the parliamentary dimension both in the bilateral format and within international organizations. The statement was made at a meeting of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Georgia Mikhail Myatlikov with Secretary General of Georgian Parliament Givi Mikanadze, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Georgia.
The parties emphasized a high level of the Belarusian-Georgian cooperation in political, inter-parliamentary, humanitarian, tourism, trade and economic sectors. The parties discussed the upcoming events between the parliaments of Belarus and Georgia. Thus, in late September, at the initiative of Georgia and with the support of the Bundestag of the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Society for International Cooperation in Tbilisi, the first conference will take place at the level of the heads of the secretariats of the parliaments of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
The parties confirmed the interest in organizing mutual visits of parliamentary friendship groups and advancing joint parliamentary initiatives to international organizations.
