MINSK, 1 June (BelTA) – Belarus and the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) agreed to hold an international branding conference in Minsk in 2017, Belarus’ Deputy Sport and Tourism Minister Mikhail Portnoi posted the relevant information on his Facebook page, BelTA has learned.
The agreement was reached at the meeting of the UNWTO Commission for Europe that took place in Vilnius.
“We met with WTO Secretary General Taleb Rifai. An agreement was reached to hold an international branding conference in Minsk in July 2017. The branding theme remains relevant for Belarus and currently needs further development,” Mikhail Portnoi wrote.
The deputy minister also said that the National Tourism Agency resumes active work in this area. The agency will host a roundtable “Belarus’ Competitiveness on the World Market of Tourist Services. Belarus Brand” on 2 June.
