MINSK, 13 August (BelTA) – The Belarusian Communications and Informatization Ministry and the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation held a joint session in Smolensk to discuss a plan of action to abolish roaming charges on the territory of the Union State, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Communications and Informatization Ministry.
“The respective ministries count on constructive approaches of Belarusian and Russian mobile carriers to this matter. One of solutions is harmonizing roaming rates. The further work will be based on the action plan envisaged in the roadmap and endorsed by the joint board,” the Belarusian ministry informed.
The efforts seek to reduce roaming-related costs for users, and thus to increase business and tourist activity, the ministry added.
