MINSK, 27 March (BelTA) – The World Information Technology and Services Alliance is ready to open a regional office in Belarus. The possibility was discussed as First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Alexander Turchin met with WITSA Secretary General James H. Poisant, BelTA has learned.
The sides discussed matters of cooperation of Belarus and the World Information Technology and Services Alliance. Alexander Turchin said: “I know about certain initiatives on your part. I think opening a regional office of the organization in Belarus will send a good positive signal, including to the global community, which sees our accomplishments in IT sphere.”
James H. Poisant also mentioned cooperation proposals regarding professional development of specialists. “Education changes very rapidly thanks to the advance of information technologies,” he remarked.
The World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) is a leading consortium of industry-wide associations of the information and communication technologies industry from over 80 countries. The alliance was established in 1978 as the World Computing Services Industry Association.
