Vitebsk to host international economic forum in May

VITEBSK, 5 April (BelTA) - The 8th edition of the international economic forum Innovations. Investments. Prospects will take place in Vitebsk on 16-17 May, BelTA learned from the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee.

Attending the forum will be delegations from foreign partner regions, large companies, trade missions and the diplomatic corps, representatives of central and regional executive authorities, state-run associations, and the business community.

"Last year, this important economic event gathered more than 130 business people and government officials from 11 regions of the Russian Federation and 13 countries of the world. The forum has been rapidly growing. The number of delegations is expected to increase this year," the regional authorities noted.

The program of the forum features various exhibitions where districts and towns of the region will showcase their achievements in the field of investments and innovations. They will also demonstrate their economic capacities and tourism offerings. The best enterprises and organizations of the region will display their solutions and products in the Innovation Zone, as well as samples of import-substituting and export-oriented products. For the first time a foreign pavilion displaying goods, services and projects will be set up. In this pavilion foreign partner regions will present their best companies and know-how. Food products will be presented separately.

There will be several platforms for negotiations and capacity demonstration: IT Zone; Innovative Equipment and Technology; Clusters and Their Role in Promoting Innovative Economy; Interregional Cooperation in the Economic Sector. Experience and Prospects; Electronic Trading Platforms for Business; Energy Saving in Industry and Construction; FEZ - Promising Venues for Project Implementation; Orsha District as a Business-Friendly Region; Experience and Prospects of Interregional Tourism.

The two-day forum will allow participants to visit the most important and promising facilities in the region and to get acquainted in detail with the economic and tourist potential of districts and towns.
