Vitebsk Oblast enterprises sign over 120 contracts at Forum of Regions of Belarus, Russia

VITEBSK, 29 June (BelTA) – Over 120 commercial contracts were signed by Vitebsk Oblast enterprises at the 10th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in the Russian city of Ufa, representatives of the Economy Committee of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee told BelTA.

As part of preparations for and during the actual forum 28 Vitebsk Oblast commercial entities signed 123 commercial contracts. The sum of export contracts exceeds $125 million. An action plan on realizing the agreement on cooperation between the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee and the government of Russia’s Republic of Bashkortostan in trade, economy, science, technology, and humanitarian sphere in 2023-2025 was also signed during the forum. The Sport and Tourism Office of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee and the autonomous non-for-profit organization Center for Tourism Promotion of the Republic of Bashkortostan initialed an agreement on interaction for the sake of promoting domestic tourism and inbound tourism.

Chairman of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee Aleksandr Subbotin met with governors of Russia’s Penza Oblast, Astrakhan Oblast, and Stavropol Territory. The sides discussed results and prospects of cooperation.

Flagships of Vitebsk Oblast’s and Belarus’ manufacturing sector from the petrochemical industry (OAO Naftan), production of electric insulation and composite materials (OAO Polotsk-Steklovolokno), production of linen goods (Orsha Linen Mill), and footwear production (OOO Belwest) took part in the work of the 10th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia.

A Vitebsk Oblast pavilion was opened during the ethnic cultures festival Friendship Street. The singing and dancing ensemble Talaka of the Vitebsk Oblast Philharmonic performed before guests of the forum.

The 11th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia will take place in Vitebsk Oblast.
