MINSK, 5 April (BelTA) – Belarus pays much attention to import substitution and localization, Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Parkhomchik told reporters during the presentation of Amkodor’s new road construction equipment, BelTA has learned.
“The developments of recent years prompted us to reconsider our industry development plans. The manufacturing sector performed well in 2023; the industry grew by 7.7%, while gross domestic product increased by 3.9%. Positive dynamics continued through the first two months of this year. GDP expanded by 4%, industrial production went up by 7.1%. There are reasons to believe that growth dynamics will remain in place in the near future,” said Piotr Parkhomchik.
According to him, Belarus pays much attention to import substitution and localization. “Some companies from unfriendly states have stopped supplying their components to our country, which posed a certain challenge to us. I can say with confidence that our manufacturers have coped with this challenge. What we see today at the Amkodor company is a clear testimony to that. We have not failed, as our enemies expected, quite the opposite, we have tapped into our reserves and focused on creating new models of equipment. Technical characteristics of this equipment are not inferior to those of similar foreign products. A very high level of localization is another important achievement,” the deputy prime minister emphasized.
On 5 April Amkodor presented new road construction equipment that rolled off the assembly line in April 2024. They include the Amkodor XC250LC crawler excavator with a bucket capacity of 1.2 cubic meters, the Amkodor RS160 single-drum vibratory asphalt roller with an operating weight of 16 tonnes, the Amkodor US303D multi-purpose dump semi-trailer with a load capacity of 30 tonnes, the Amkodor W200C multi-purpose loader with a load capacity of 2 tonnes and the Amkodor W7 00C wheel loader with a lifting capacity of 7 tonnes. The company also arranged an exhibition of its road construction machines. The performance of five new products in real-time mode was demonstrated at the presentation site.
Over its long history, Amkodor has amassed extensive experience in developing high-tech equipment. The knowledge, competencies, and experience of its designers, engineers, technologists, and production workers allow the company to constantly improve its operations, introduce advanced technologies, increase production capacity, and expand the product line-up. Today the holding company is one of the leading manufacturers of modern high-performance equipment for all sectors of the economy. In 2023 alone, 11 new models of special-purpose equipment and agricultural machines were developed. The company launched the production of manipulators, harvester heads, control systems and other component parts to achieve maximum localization of production.
