MINSK, 6 February (BelTA) – Uzbekistan’s National Air Company Uzbekistan Airways is planning to open regular flights from Tashkent to the National Airport Minsk in May 2015, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian airport.
“The Tashkent-Minsk flights will be opened for the first time after the collapse of the Soviet Union. The opening of the flights will be a landmark event as Southeast Asia and Central Asian republics will become closer for Belarusian travelers,” the press release of the press service reads. In line with the preliminary agreement, the air carrier will operate the Tashkent-Minsk flights twice a week.
On 5 February Minsk hosted negotiations with the representatives of Uzbekistan’s company. Partners from Uzbekistan met with specialized services and departments of the National Airport Minsk to discuss the preparation for the opening of the flights. They also held talks with the representatives of the Minsk 2 customs service and the border control department.
Uzbekistan’s National Air Company Uzbekistan Airways was founded in 1992. It operates regular flights to more than 40 cities in the world, including cities in Europe and Asia, the United States and Japan. The company has offices in 25 countries. The fleet of the company consists of Boeing 757/767 aircraft, A320 aircraft, modern aircraft Il-114-100, and freight carriers A300-600.
