KIEV, 11 April (BelTA) - Ukraine would like to expand the range of imports from Belarus, Taras Tokarsky, Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities, told BelTA on the sidelines of the Made in Belarus forum.
“At the state level, we can guarantee support to producers who supply high-quality goods. Today, many products that are made in Belarus are popular in Ukraine; they have good reviews. We would like Belarusian producers to work even more actively in our market,” he noted.
Taras Tokarsky stressed that Belarusian enterprises are long-standing strategic partners for Ukraine. “Virtually all the companies featured at the exhibition have been long working in Ukraine. The relations are goos. We are talking not about the advancement to our market but about them increasing their market share here. We expect further increase in the sales of products which I am very pleased with,” he said.
The deputy minister recalled that in the second half of this year Belarus and Ukraine are planning a large joint event, namely the Forum of Regions. “We will discuss new projects. Ukraine is implementing a reform on decentralization. Local authorities are given more financial instruments. The forum is a good opportunity to deepen cooperation because now regions wield more power in decision making,” he said.
Taras Tokarsky attended the stands of MAZ, Amkodor, MTZ, and Gomselmash and took a ride in the Belarusian truck of pilot Sergei Vyazovich who won the Dakar-2018 silver medal
