Turkish business eager to invest in Belarusian towns

OSTROVETS, 16 November (BelTA) – Turkish business in eager to take part in the implementation of projects in Belarusian towns, Sedat Igdeci, the president of the business association Turkish Capital, told BelTA on 16 November.

A Turkish company has implemented a project to build a three-star hotel in Ostrovets. The total investment amount was around $12 million.

“Belarus has a good investment climate. The government knows what investors want and how it can help them. Personally, I have been working with Belarus for more than ten years already. It is a stable and peaceful country. I always tell my colleagues from Turkey that Belarus is good for doing business,” Sedat Igdeci noted. He believes that it is very profitable to invest in towns. He decided to carry out another project in Ostrovets to build an apartment block and also a multi-purpose motorway service center with a hotel, filling stations, a restaurant, a cafe and parking spaces for automobiles and trucks near the Kotlovka border crossing point. The project will receive some $30 million in investments.

“Ostrovets and other similar towns will be growing, and investors can contribute to this. It is very important for us to feel the support of regional and local authorities at all the stages,” Sedat Igdeci said. He noted that he is also considering a project to build an agricultural tourism center in Braslav.

Besides, Turkish investments helped build residential buildings in Novopolotsk and Pinsk. The construction of a shopping and office center in Minsk is nearing completion. Plans have been made to erect another five centers in different districts of Minsk and set up a private kindergarten and a school.
