Turkey invited to consider setting up bank in Belarus with Turkish capital
MINSK, 14 February (BelTA) – Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov offered his Turkish counterpart Binali Yildirim to consider founding a bank with Turkish capital in Belarus, BelTA has learned.
“We need to improve freight logistics, map out new transport routes, and discuss the establishment of a bank with Turkish capital in Belarus,” Andrei Kobyakov said.
The Belarusian PM also suggested discussing the possibility of forming a special institution aimed at Turkish investors in a Belarusian free economic zone or the Belarus-China Great Stone industrial park.
According to Andrei Kobyakov, cooperation in science and technology requires a massive boost. Today Belarusian and Turkish scientists are implementing projects in bioorganic chemistry and applied math. “We have an interest in setting up Belarusian-Turkish scientific consortiums in promising fields, namely information and communications, biotechnology, nanotechnology, genetic engineering, energy, ecology, and others,” he remarked.
Binali Yildirim, in turn, thanked Andrei Kobyakov for the warm welcome.
